Tip of the Week: Capture any web image to your Desktop

This is an "oldie but goodie" tip on changing the background on your Windows Desktop called the "wallpaper" (and often mistakenly called the screen saver) to whatever you run across on the Internet.  DID YOU KNOW (this is for new users...): Whenever you run across a really cool picture on the Internet that you want to become your wallpaper, you simply right-click on the image and select "Set as Background".  This does not delete your previous image; it simply becomes your current wallpaper.

BONUS TIP: the bigger the image the better, especially if you stretch it to fit your screen resolution.

Headwhack of the Week: My Digital Camera battery is dead again!

Digital cameras are a mainstay in today's tech world and unfortunately, so are dead batteries.  Today's cameras often boast of wonderful large LCD screens that allow you to see the image you just took, but those great viewing screens come at a price: YOUR BATTERY LIFE.  The three most common drains on a digital camera battery are: Leaving the LCD Screen on all the time (far and away the biggest battery killer!), overuse of the flash and constant review of the images that were just taken.

Temperature can also play a role in the overall battery life, so avoid extreme heat or cold and don't use the camera until it gets closer to room temperature.

If you turn off your LCD screen and get used to using the viewfinder (remember those things?) you will significantly improve battery life.  Which brings up another tip: Avoid buying cameras that don't have a viewfinder so you don't have to use the LCD!
