Tip of the Week: Case Changing shortcut in Word
If you really want to emphasize something that you are writing in a Microsoft Word document, one of the formatting options you can use is to CHANGE THE CASE. You can click through the formatting menu to make the changes or use this weeks tip to quickly toggle between regular, uppercase or title case. Select the text that you want to change by highlighting it, then hold the Shift key down while tapping the F3 key!
Headwhack of the Week: Highlighting large chunks of stuff
Copy and Paste or Cut and Paste are vital parts of today's computing experience, but in order to use either, you must first be good at highlighting the items that you want to work with. When you have a large amount of information that you need to highlight (like several pages of a Word document or Excel spreadsheet) using the mouse can often create some real frustration.
If you find that your mouse control is a bit frustrating during the highlighting step, try placing the cursor in front of the text that you want to highlight, then hold down the Shift key and start tapping your down arrow for a more controlled experience!

PC World recently posted a survey asking regular folks their opinion about the news that Microsoft was planning on discontinuing most sales of Windows XP on June 30th, 2008 (system builders like Data Doctors will have product available until January 31 of 2009 according to the current Microsoft plans.)

This Week's Show: The "Less-Paper" Office
The term "paperless office" was coined in 1975 in a futuristic interpretation of the impact that computers were to have on society. Needless to say, the predictions of the paperless office were greatly over exaggerated.
In fact, according the Xerox from 1995 to 2005 we doubled the amount paper used in printed documents. "Paperless" isn't likely, but less paper is very achievable.
