What is copywritten?

Hello, yes i was wondering why some products require CD keys when people just use the same cd key all the time can you tell me!!

CD's have keys to it because they are copywritten from the company that makes the software so that no one or company can copy or sell there software with out that written consent or key as that no one can sell it without having the key so that the company can be sure that someone brought it and not stole it for other uses
