What will stop my CPU usage from running so high?

My sytem monitor shows Kernel: Processor Usage at 100% all the time. What is this, and is this OK?

This question was answered on November 23, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

This is not a good sign it means that your processor is running at a 100% which will eventually lead to a crash. Go into the Processor Usage window check each program that is running and see which one is running high, highlight and end the process this should return the usage to a normal range.
