how can I clear my computer of files to free up some space.

Question

When I delete files, the space doesn't seem to clear. I usually uninstall programs through the "add/remove programs" thing and it still doesn't clear the space. My computer's about 6 and a half years old, so I know it's a piece of crap, but is there anything I can do becides constantly reformating?

This question was answered on November 24, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

When files are deleted they move to the recycle bin therefore you should empty the recycle bin which would free up the space and make it available for use.
