What is an installation error

Question

I just bought my digital Camera. Its three in one...web cam, digital cam, and video cam. I took some pictures and plugged up my cam and put in the cd, by arcsoft. It ask for the language and it started to install and then it said, an error occurred while installing this cam (0x80040702). i'm am just about to give up......please help me!!!!

This question was answered on February 2, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

A few things comes to mind. One what type of operating system you have. if you have windows 98, windows 98 ME you needed to install the software before pluging in the camera. Two the software may no be compatable with your operating system so please make sure that the CD says compatabily with OS matches with your Operating System. Three the CD could be curubted so you should contact the manuifactuer to let them know that your CD may be curubted and that you need another one.
