Why does the Windows XP OS take 10 minutes to load?

Question

when i restart my computer it boots up fine but it just recently start taking about ten minutes to start loading windows xp my computer is almost 5 years old and has a pentium 2 prossesor is this why?

This question was answered on January 27, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Even though Windows XP requires only 64 MB to install, it will not perform the way you

expect it to unless you have at least 1.5 GB free space on the volume that holds XP.

The suggestion is that if you only 64 MB of RAM, increase to 128 MB or better.
