How do I get my internet to work, using a cable modem?

Question

I had a cable modem hooked up to my laptop, however I can not gain access to the internet. The laptop has been set to use a dial-up connection. How can I change the laptop to use the cable modem instead of trying to use a dial-up connection? Where on the computer do I go the fix this? Thank you.

Right click your computer icon. Then click the properties option. You must then click the hardware button. You will then see a hardware wizard button. Click this button to install the driver for your modem. It will ask you if you have a disk, install now. Once set-up is complete, You will go into your browser and click the connections button. Click the set-up button then add your modem. This should work.
