Why do I get 9 lines down my screen when I play certain games

Everytime I start to play some computer games I get 9 straight lines down my screen. It only happens in some games. When I got the computer all my games worked ok without lines down my screen...............thanks

This question was answered on June 8, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

This can be because you need to change your display settings. Some games need your settings to be higher and better color. To change the settings go to the desktop and right click. Scroll down and select properties. Then Select the tab settings. Click the drop down menu next to the color settings and select a higher bit or select true colors. And also try raising the pixel settings.
