My PC will not bootup

Question

My PC just won't boot up. How can I tell if it's my mother board or my hard drive that is causing the problem?

Wipe clean those dusty re-installation cd(s) that came along with your computer when you first purchased it and place them into your cd-rom. Don't worry if the computer doesn't boot up or anything. Simply shut it down by pressing the power-on button and then on again by pressing the same button. Once the computer has rebooted, your re-installation cd will autorun to guide you through the process. Unfortunately a re-installation will cause you to lose all of your files and folders but you shouldl have your operating system intact once again. Good Luck!!
