Did you connect the printer first or the drivers?

I have a Hewlett Packard 656c series printer, and having trouble installing my software. Its telling me that the port or usb device is wrong and also unknown device is found on the printer.

I don't know your particular printer off-hand, but with other 600 series USB printers I've installed, it's important to install the HP driver package first before connecting the USB lead - only do it when the software tells you to. If you connected the printer first and then tried adding the drivers you'll have to uninstall & then re-install again. Check your quick start guide or the HP web site for more info.
