Why does'nt my computer print to the printer?

My sister just gave me this printer and it will copy things but not from the computer. It says printer not plugged

First thing you need to do is make sure you have proper connections. Does your printer connect with a parallel port or USB port? Secondly, make sure your printer drivers are up to date.
