Want to get your computer out of safe mode?

My monitor stays in the power safe mode can't get it to release.

This question was answered on January 17, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

When the computer boots, you will see "Starting Windows 98" at the bottom of your screen, still in text mode (before the Win98 splash screen is displayed). At that time, press F8. You must be quick about this. This will bring up a menu of choices on how you wish the computer to boot. using your arrow keys, select Normal, and press Enter
