Why did camera/scanner wizard disappear?

Since downloading SP2 my camera/scanner wizard does not appear when I connect my digital camera. Where did it go ? I have tried to install camera drivers but they also disappear....

This question was answered on February 23, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Your scanner/camera wizard disappeared due to the fact you installed a new operating system into your computer. Before you try installing new drivers for your different hardware, you will have to add the devices so the computer can recognize them upon installation.

Follow these steps to add the necessary hardware:

1. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then double-click Scanners and Cameras.

2. Double-click Add Device, and then follow the steps displayed on the screen to complete the installation.

3. Click Finish, and then click Close to close the Scanners & Cameras window.

Upon completion of those tasks and the wizard will start automatically when you install the device to your computer.
