How do I upgrade Win 3.1 to Win 98?

i want to load windows 98 over ms-dos 3.1

Verify that you have enough hard drive space for windows 98

Delete files in the recycle bin and temp directories

Run SCANDISK or CHKDSK/F

Run a current version of anti-virus software to check for viruses

Save your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files

Check AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS for potential problems

Disable any Terminate and Stay Resident programs

Decide if you want to use FAT 16 or FAT 32 for your hard drive
