Question
I have a dual boot system, with WIN XP/Linux SuSe, and I cannot get my DVD burner to enable. Everything I do in the Windows process to enable it, fails. I can burn CD's through Linux, but the DVD burner cannot be activated. Any suggestions?
How can I get my DVD Burner to burn DVD in Windows and Linux?

AnswerThis question was answered on April 19, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting. First, ensure that your system meets the minimum requires listed on the DVD burner's packaging. Next, ensure it's compatibility with Windows and Linux by checking their hardware compatibility lists (sometimes known as an HCL), which you can find on their websites. Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx
SuSe:http://cdb.novell.com/?LANG=en_UK
Ensure you have downloaded the latest drivers for both operating systems. Hope this helps!
