How to troublshoot conflicting hardware.

Question

i have an samsung tsst corp cd/dvdw ts-h552b which will play and burn dvds .will play audio cds but will not accsept a blank cd to burn

Answer

This question was answered on June 7, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

This is could be caused by your video card and conflicting of drivers.

1. Click Start, next click the Control Panel icon.

2. Double click the Display icon, click the Settings tab and change the display type to Standard VGA.

3. Reboot the computer if needed.

4. Uninstall all Diamond Video drivers through the Add / Remove Icon through control panel or through the Uninstall program, if supplied with the drivers.

5. Once the drivers have been completely Uninstalled attempt to install the Latest drivers again.

Unfortunately the manufacture of you video is no longer in business and there little to no support available for the Diamond video card purchased after 9/1/2003. Go to http://www.diamondmm.com/support.php and check for any software updates or downloads available for your specific video card.

In addition go to the Samsung website http://www.samsung.com/index.htm and type TS-H552h in the search field, next click the Download tab and you will see the latest downloads available for your product. Follow the instructions accordingly for your operating system.
