What is slow startup?

Question

Very slow start up....I have about 10 items in the lower right hand corner (near clock). I'm sure this slows it down, but how do I remove them?

This question was answered on July 5, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

To remove the items in the lower left hand corner simply flollow these directions:

1 - Click on the Start Menu

2 - Select Run

3 - Type in msconfig and click OK

4 - Go to the Startup tab

5 - Remove the checkmarks from all of the boxes

6 - Click Apply, then OK

7 - Resart your computer

The items in the lower left should be gone and you should notice some improved performance in you computer.
