Question
I am getting a very irritating pop-up that I can't get rid of unless I re-start the computer (and then it comes back after a bit anyway). It started happening about a month ago, then it stopped surfacing, and now it is back again.
The pop-up covers 1/8 of the screen at the bottom right hand corner. It is from 'Viewpoint', and says: "You have been updated. Your Viewpoint Media Player was recently updated with the latest components to enhance your web viewing. A new browser is recommended, including advanced pop-up blocking and graphically enhanced search." There are two link boxes to press saying 'Update' and 'more info', and two links saying 'who is viewpoint' and 'end user license agreement' which says you agree to if you click 'update'.
The pop-up ALWAYS stays on top no matter what window I am using, and has no 'x' to make it disappear, or a symbol on the start bar. It does have an icon at the bottom right though - where all the system icons are (ie beside the clock)
Other things to note:
-I found a viewpoint icon on my control panel, but I can't seem to be able to un-install the program or even by pressing delete.
-Both my husband and myself bought the same laptops at the same time. He does not have this Viewpoint icon in his control panel
-I am up to date with Norton, did a system scan, and just ran Lavasoft ad-aware - to no avail.
-I use windows media player
Please can you help me get rid of this?!
