Why does my laptop power itself off when hot?

In your bios there is a an option that will monitor your CPU's temperature, and if it reaches a certain value it will shut down the computer to protect it from overheating and ruining the computer parts. If you are having this issue then you need to get more cooling for your laptop such as a base with fans to put underneath it, etc.
