Question
I was browsing through my Control Panel and discovered something called "Viewpoint" installed which I don't recall being there earlier. What is it? What does it do? Do I need it to run something else?
Is Viewpoint something to worry about?

AnswerThis question was answered on April 16, 2006. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting. Viewpoint is a program that is installed along with AOL or AIM. It's not a spyware program, but it was installed without your knowledge and that's always something to be leery of. The program is simply a viewer that's used for a program you've installed. The software is something that claims to be a required part of the program you are using so removing it might cause a conflict with AOL or AIM. You're doing a great job keeping on top of the programs on your computer.
