How do I make a Startup Disk?

Question

I had problems with my hard drive and had many corrupted files. I am trying to reformat and then install Windows 95 from a cd. How can I clean the drive and restart from a floppy and then get to the cd-rom. Only have 95 on cd and can't get there without hard drive.

First you need to make a Startup Disk. Go to Start, pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, double-clicking Add/Remove Programs, and then clicking the Startup Disk tab. Click Create Disk. Next you will want to test the Startup

disk and make sure you have access to your cd-rom from a MS-DOS prompt. Then you can format your hard drive using "format c:" or the "fdisk" utility. When that is complete place

your 95 cd in the cd-rom drive and type "d:\setup.exe" d = drive letter of the cd-rom drive.
