Why does my computer boot up with a green cursor?

Question

Do you know why the curser on my computer intermittantly comes up green at boot up. I was wondering if you have been able to find out anything as to why this occurs. I would like to know if I have a bad componet in my computer or monitor long before my warrenty duns out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You;

Video cards typically try to decypher the type of monitor that is attached to it during the startup of the computer. If for some reason your card is unable to determine the type of monitor properly, it will default to monochrome display. Once a graphic image is generated it can switch to color mode. In most cases this is a problem with the video card itself. In some cases the monitor can cause the problem. Try testing with a different monitor before replacing the video card.
