display settings all dark?

Question

when I open my desktop and I click on control panel. The problem is that the little box which showes, date and time is all colored in and there's black line through the icon making it impossible to see. How do i fix that- also I up graded to windows 98 from 95 could this have anything to do with my problem.. please help/

This question was answered on September 22, 1999. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

This could be because of when you upgraded from Windows 95 to windows 98, the screen settings were changed by default.

Go to the Control Panel, click on the display icon. A display properties window will appear. Click on the appearance tab. Click on the color box and change the color to any other than black. Click apply box on the bottom. Hope that works for you.
