How do I know if my programs are Y2K compliant?

Question

How do I know that my each of my programs and applications are y2k compliant such as MSWorks and Quicken?

Answer

This question was answered on June 12, 1999. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

First of all, compliance only comes into play if the program uses the date for calculations. Word Processors, Spreadsheets, Desktop Publishers, etc. generally do not care what the date is and should not have any compliance issues. Financial programs like Quicken will certainly have issues and should be checked for compliance. The best way to check compliance is to go to the web site of the manufacturer of the program so you can check your version for any compliance issues. Most Windows based programs can be checked for version by clicking on the Help menu then on About.
