Question

The start button will not turn the computer on. I tried unplugging the computer from it's power source.

This is most likely an easy fix there is a small connector cord that runs from your start button to your motherboard and it sounds like it has been disconnected from your motherboard. Hopefully you have your motherboard's manual and it will show you where to connect the start button to the board. This should fix your problem and good luck!!
