Sound Problem

Question

I just re-enstalled XP on my lappy and its not letting me turn the sound up or on even. It says that there arent any hardware devices and yet i can go look at device managerand there they are so i need so help here.

This question was answered on November 25, 2007. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Since you just re-installed Xp on your system some devices will be missing drivers which will cause them to not work.

If you used a recovery disc you can pull them off of that. otherwise you need to go to the manufactures website of your computer and download and install the latest drivers for your laptop.
