When I start my computer i receive an error, what should I do?

When I start the computer it loads the Compaq logo and the says "A disk read error occured Press ctrl+alt+del to restart" and when I restart the same thing happens. What should I do?

Hello,

This sounds like you might have a disk already in while your trying to boot your computer, and it is attempting to read the disk to see if it is a system disk. I would just remove any disk you currently have in and see if that works for ya.
