Why can't Windows Media Player play my DVD movies?

unable to view videos,WMP only shows blank screen,

while playing audio.

This question was answered on June 21, 2007. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Windows Media Player (WMP) needs a codec to play videos. Meaning unless you buy a program like Intervideo, you won't be able to play DVDs.

Easiest fix is to download VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). It plays nearly every video file that you can imagine.
