How do I get rid of Contravirus 2.0?

Question

I have a program called Contravirus 2.0 that infiltrated my computer. It keeps reinstalling the program after I go in and remove it. I have a icon on my toolbar that keeps telling me my computer in infected. I run spybot and my virus scans that removes all cookies and adware. How can I "kill" this Contravirus?

Sounds like you have the right idea for removing that spyware virus. You just need to use this tool: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/smitfraudfix.php</p>

Run that program from safe mode(press F8 before windows starts). Then follow it up with Ad-Aware, Spybot and other spyware programs. Spy Sweeper(http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/arcmessageview.php?catid=18&threadid=578993)

is a good program to use to clean up the mess as is Counterspy (http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Home-Home-Office/CounterSpy/Download/).
