Power Supply Problelms

Question

My system powers on when the power supply is plugged in and it won't shut down with the power button. It won't turn on with it either.

here is the exact problem:

When I plug in the computer, it automatically turns on (as soon as the plug enters the power supply) and it won't boot. The only way to turn it off is to flip the switch on the power supply. Is this a sign that the PS is shot? or is there another problem in this system causing this glitch. It worked fine before I moved.

please help me get this fixed, my wife is foaming at the mouth to get her computer back

Well the first the I would do is check your jumpers on the motherboard. See what setup is to do and make sure nothing is flipped around. Also listen to see if your devices boot up. EX CD-Rom spins, CPU fan starts. If they don't, they I would suggest trying a different power supply. If everything does start up check your monitor cable and your video card connections to the motherboard.
