My laptop will not run any programs why?

Question

My laptop will not run any programs....just last night this happened and was running fine prior. It is a Sony Vio with xp and was purchased in Jan 07. Have had no problems with it until this. I can open and maintenance files but I can not open programs, not even in safe mode. I have attempted to run virus scans but it won't run them??

Im sorry to hear your having trouble; try using system restore and see if you can go back to when your laptop was working well. You can access this under control panel, and hopefully there was a good save point there for you. Good Luck! Kevin
