Why is my laptop shutting off?

Question

My Toshiba laptop turns off unexpectedly on an average of once per day. I think it may be that the computer is overheating, although I guess it could be a problem with the Motherboard or something of that nature. However, I am not sure. The fan on the right underside seems to be working fine, but the bottom of the back of the laptop is pretty hot and the temperature doesn't seem to decrease unless the computer is off. Other than that all I can think is that my music files may contain a virus that has harmed the computer. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Hey there you are most likely correct, this does sound like an overheating issue; but it also could be a hardware issue as well. Your best bet is to have a diagnostics check done to see how hot your laptop is running, or see if there is an easy hardware fix such as a new power supply.

Good Luck
