Macro Security... what's that?

Question

How do I enable Macro Security in Microsoft Word?

Answer

Word Macros are an often used mechanism to propagate malware within your computer. Turning on Macro security will let you know when one of these macros is trying to run, and let you choose to let it do so. (Some macros are useful, so you will probably always want the choice). To turn on Macro security in word:

* Open Microsoft Word

* Select Tools » Macro » Security… from the toolbar

* Select Medium, High, or Very High in the Security Level tab.

* Click OK

That's it!
