Why is my printer printing lines?

Question

I have a Canon BJC-6000 and it is connected through a USB to Parallel conneciton. It has been printing fine since I have it (3 months) and just the other day it was printing text then 1/2 way down the page it started printing solid black areas where the text should have been.

I have tried the printhead alignment and it comes up with an error. I have tried changing the cartridge and that does not help either. I am wondering if there is anything that I can do short of returning this item to have it replaced.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Scott

You problem definately sounds like it is with the printer hardware, and not the connections. Click on your start button, select settings, printers, right click on your printer, select properties. If you have a tab labeled utilites, click that and check for a functions called "clean print heads". If that exists, run that utility a couple of times, and then try to print again. If that fails, I would suggest you re-install your printer driver, just like you first did when you brought it home. If you still have no luck, Take it in.

Good Luck!
