How to get trust relationships to work between Win2K and Win NT4

Question

I am having MAJOR problems trying to get the Trust Relationships to work between a NT 4.0 Domain and a Windows 2000 Domain.

This question was answered on January 28, 2001. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

In Windows NT 4.0 and earlier, trust relationships are one-way and each must be established and managed individually, and the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server text says this is a "complex task" (as you are finding out!) Windows 2000 trust relationships are two-way transitive and automatically established. Windows 2000 Server says you can define explicit one-way trust relationships as necessary through the domain properties in the Site Manager snap-in.
