Is my damaged floppy salvageable??

Question

I have extremely important information on a floppy disk. Unfortunately, I never backed it up or even saved a hard copy. For some reason, I can't bring up anything on the disk. Both my pc's say it can't read the disk. "Device not ready" The disk may have gotten wet a couple of days ago when a cup of water spilled on my desk. Is it salvageable at all?

Hello and thank you for your question.

First of all a hard lesson learned, you ALWAYS back up information that you can't afford to loose. To answer your question, I think it's safe to say the disk is trashed! However, there "might" be some kind of recovery system to retrieve information from a damaged floppy disk. I suggest you call a reputable repair shop to find out.

Good luck!!
