NTKERN.VXD device loader

Question

I am unable to load the driver necessary to download video from my digital video camera. I am using Windows 98 SE running on a Pentium IV 2.0 GH machine. Video editing software is Pinnacle Studio DV Version 7 and the camera is a JVC GR DV M90.

When the camera is on and connected via IEEE-1394 the Control Panel Device Manager shows Imaging Device with Microsoft DV Camera and VCR with an exclamation mark. When I click on properties I get the following Device Status message,

“The NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) could not load the device driver. Code (2)

To fix this click Update Driver to update the device driver.”

When I try to update the driver it looks on my Windows 98 SE disk and tells me the best driver found is already installed. When I opt to reload and reboot I get the same indications as before.
