What's a floppy drive?

Question

I get this message when i boot up "Floppy disk(s) fail (80) " I just bought this mobo "Shuttle AK32A" all my other drivers work but not my floppy drive i have a second computer, I pulled out the cable i have in my computer and put it in the new mobo and it still doesn't work and i put the cable on my old system and it works. so i can't figure out what going on. Is the IO on the board defective?

When you start setup either from the Windows 2000 installation CD-ROM or from a floppy disk, you may receive the error message.

Solution:

Set PC to boot from the Hard disk, then Drive A, Then CD-ROM or DVD
