Why can't I see the toolbar on Microsoft word?

Suddenly Microsoft Office (Winword) opens with no toolbars showing. I did nothing to it, it just happened when I opened it. I've tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling it but still get the same thing. Is there some hidden program I need to remove when uninstalling it? I've tried ALT-whatever and nothing works. All I can do is save a program, or open a program. I have no control over it once its up. Is there some shortcut I'm not using that would give me access to the various menu items? Or what do I need to do when reinstalling it to make it work.

You can get the toolbar back by going to view and clicking on the things u want in the toolbar to show.
