problems with drives

Question

I was given a Compaq with Windows NT but cannot open the cd or floppy drive. When I try to use either I get a "(f or c):\ is not accesible, The drive is not ready" message. Both are plugged in. any suggestions?

sounds like the drive may not be responding or maybe damaged see if u can get a professional to have a look at your cd and floppy drive they may need to have some parts replaced or be replaced completely.
