How do I clear all previous words used in the search engines?

Question

Is there a way to clear all previous words used in the search engines? For example, every time I search for a word starting with "s", the choices in the letter "s" that I enter previous come up, "spanish". This happens regardless ofthe search engine that I use, MSN.COM, YAHOO.COM, even when enter information on this site, the previous words searched in other engines come up. I know how to erase the history of the websites I have visited but what about the words in the search engines?
