what is a dial up problem

Question

The a few weeks ago, when we turned on our computer, it automatically dialed up the internet. After unknowingly, tying up our phone line, I finally "clicked off" the "Connect automatically" button on our dial up connection. But the computer still defaults to that dial up window. How can we stop this? I can't seem to find the setting to set back to the way it was originally. (We have Windows ME).

Thanks

Barry

There are some settings that allow the internet to start up right when you turn on your cpu go online to your internet account and check the settings you have it on this should make the problem stop if that doesnt work disconnect your phoneline if you dont want the computer to be signing online without your permission.
