Track your kids using a GPS watch!
Wherify looks kind of like an oversized wrist watch or a special communicator that has a GPS chip inside so you can locate your kids via a web interface at any time.

It can send e-mail alerts, has a built in 911 system, has a 2-way paging system and it LOCKS on your child's wrist & can only be removed with a special code!

Everyone that has seen this product generally has one of two reactions…I want that to track my kids or that is too intrusive! We want to know how you feel about this new generation of products that clearly raises some questions about privacy.

Do you think Wherify is a great product whose time has come or way too big brother...let us know at tv@datadoctors.com!

Know what your car is saying to you!
The days of the simple 'Engine' a.k.a. the 'Idiot' light are over because of the introduction of computer technology to our cars.

Mechanics interface with 1996 or newer cars through a special port that will allow them to 'dump' diagnostic data onto a computer to help determine what is wrong with your car.

Well, if you want to have access to that same data, check out the Car Chip from Davis Instruments. Simply plug the unit into your ODBII port and it starts collecting data on your car that you can later download to your home computer!

"What the heck is this button for?"

If you have ever wondered just that, then you need to learn the

"Super Geek Tip of the Week"!

We take a GPS navigation system for a spin!
With the help of special correspondent, Greg Disney (special, heck...he's Brandon's brother!) and his Toyota 4Runner , we went on a test drive of a new DVD based car navigation system.

DVD-based systems can contain navigation for the entire U.S. on one disk as opposed to six disks for older CD-based systems.

Get your life together...online...for free!
Personal Information Managers or PIMs are becoming all of the rage. Most users have a handheld computing device that has most of their information on it, but did you know that you could have a free Internet based system as well?

Everything from a calendar to contacts to task lists can be stored at My.Yahoo.com

If you do have a handheld device or use Microsoft's Outlook program, you can syncronize with your online PIM as well (look for the 'sync' link at the bottom of the Calendar or Address book pages). This allows you to access your information from anywhere in the world without having to bring your handheld or laptop along!

Trivial Tech Term

OBD-II: The second generation of On Board Diagnostics that was introduced in cars model year 1996 or newer. It’s a diagnostic system that has a port for mechanics to plug in a computer to communicate with your car. It can download a log complete with error codes so that your mechanic can get a better idea of how your car has been running.

Tip of the Week

The : How many times have you looked at something on the screen of your computer and wondered, ‘what the heck is this button for’?
