Are Macs Really a Safer Choice?
We've all heard the marketing messages from Apple about how much safer it is to use a Mac than a Windows based computer and at face value, the exponential difference in the number of possible virus infections seems to support this assumption.
But as the malware world changes (viruses are now just a small part of the danger), the current trend shows that most attacks (85%) are being distributed via web apps and not aimed directly at a particular operating system.
Your browser for instance, regardless of which operating system you use is one of the key targets of the bad guys and stealing your identity is their goal.
Root kits, spyware, botnets and a host of other malware attacks via popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace have little to do with anti-virus protection.
Listen in as the Data Doctors discuss the reality of life in the Internet age and what you should really be concerned about in your next computer.
