Data Doctors Radio Program
We're running out of Internet Addresses!
When the pre-cursor to the Internet (known as the ARPAnet) was under development, it was considered a short-term experiment, so thinking about the need for more than 4.3 billion addresses was considered overkill.
Well, the experiment never ended and today we are faced with the very real issue of running out of unique addresses based on those decisions in the late 70's.
How did this happen, how is this going to impact you and what is being done to overcome this issue?
Listen in as the Data Doctors fill you in on the history of IPv4 and the future of IPv6 and what you need to know to keep up with the impending changes to the basis for making connections on the Internet.
