The Pros and Perils of Online Shopping
By now the majority of us have made at least one online purchase. In fact, out of 190 million US Internet users, 120 million are now shopping online according to Jupiter Media (www.jupiter.com). The Internet has changed the way consumers buy almost any product!
So, why haven’t the other 70 million Internet users jumped on the bandwagon? There’s been a lot of controversy over the safety and reliability of online shopping. The Internet is a global network, and therefore a great deal of online stores are located in other countries with differing laws and liabilities. There’s also concern over the threat of completely illegitimate websites, offering phony products and services in an attempt to pilfer credit card information.
