Net Neutrality: Good or Bad?
The telephone and cable companies have suggested a restructuring of the Internet that has sparked heated debate among netizens, online businesses, and politicians alike. The debate revolves around an idea known as net neutrality. In fact, net neutrality has been the core philosophy of the Internet since its inception. The proposition is an Internet based on quality-of-service tiers, where more money would ensure you a higher priority for your website. The fear is that this would allow telecommunications companies to charge a premium for better web visibility, giving wealthy companies an unfair advantage.
Do you think a tiered Internet structure would benefit the future of the net, or should the Web stay neutral? Tune in this weekend as Ken, Brandon, and Chad discuss the semantics of the Internet and how a restructuring might affect you.
