Wikilobbying: A wiki is a community-run reference website where anyone can add, edit or delete information. Wikipedia is one of the more popular examples of a wiki. because of their structure, a wiki's success is largely dependent on a small core group of members who patrol the site, making sure vandalism is deterred or removed. Wikilobbying describes the practice of modifying entries in high-profile wikis to attempt to sway public opinion. Microsoft recently made headlines by offering to pay an Australian tech to modify Wikipedia entries to portray Microsoft products in a more favorable light. Microsoft's actions are an example of wikilobbying, where money, instead of facts, are the primary motivator of wiki information.
