The Internet has enough garbage circulating that can cause your computer harm, but many of you are inviting problems into your computer because you have file sharing software installed.
To add to the dangers, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) recently won a $222,000 judgment against a woman in Minnesota for sharing 24 copyrighted songs on her home computer ($9,250 per song).

Honeypot: A bogus system setup to attract potential hackers, spammers or music downloaders. The anti-virus industry sets up virus honeypots that pose as unprotected computers to see what new code is being released. The RIAA and MPAA setup "honeypot" file sharing systems that look like they have copyrighted music and movies so they can acquire the IP address of users attempting to download copyrighted materials.
